Coucou mes amies! How are you this morning?
(It's morning as I type this, 6:55am if you want to be exact about it, so I'm saying morning but feel free to change 'morning' to afternoon, or evening if that better suits you and your timezone.)
There isn't much happening in The LPV at the moment, like absolutely nothing at all, but I felt like saying hi anyway even though I don't really have anything to say, I hope that's OK.
It's been calm and quiet around here this week. It's amazing how empty Provence feels once September rolls around and the summer tourists go home. Like almost over night... POOF... everyone disappears. Does it feel more crowded in Paris now? If you happen to be in Paris can you let me know please. Thank you.
Let's see, last night I made curried courgette soup (of course I did) from the largest courgette I have ever seen from Papa's garden. This thing was H U G E and when I was chopping it up I cursed myself for not taking a photo first because yeah, it was that big. (You can even ask Aidan, because I was on the phone with her when I was chopping).
And to go with the soup I made garlic butter to spread on the baguette because I'm a firm believer that even though butter is one of the most wonderful things ever, it can always be better by adding herbs or garlic to it to make the butter even better. I call it better butter.
Changing the subject...
I've been on a pinning kick again, because that's what happens when it's super duper quiet around here with not much going on, and when I saw this here pin, I laughed... hard.
And then I saw this one and I laughed really, really hard (snorting was involved)...

Lieutenant Dan, ice cream... ice cream Lieutenant Dan |
But then I saw this...
And I thought to myself, "hey, I know that cat,
and I'm pretty sure he's talking about my window"
bisou
Totally snorted on the "You got new legs" one. Holy crap....
ReplyDeletetotally snorted when i saw "lieutenant Dan" because I once slept with a pilot 15 years younger than me (unknowingly!!!- the age, not the sex part) who all my friends called Lieutenant Dan. (cause that was his name.)
ReplyDeleteGuess you had to be there. Tho better you weren't. That would have been ... Awkward...
Cause, you know, this whole confession bit wasn't.
Man, this would be so much funnier after wine (me) instead of coffee (you).
ReplyDeleteLove this post, all of it. As for the soup, I think that is my next recipe with courgette. It has been a bit hot for soup and I have stayed clear, but the time has come for some more ways to cook the flippin things they just do not stop LOL. Take care Diane
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Indonesia and it's 3.45 pm here (i feel so cool to get to say that. ha!)
ReplyDeletecan i come to LPV? i need peace right now. if only i could disapparate right now...
i love the photo by the way.
Garlic butter, peach butter, pumpkin butter....yes, I do love butter! Our little town doubles its population in the summer, so I do know that "quiet" feeling. it has a soothing feeling. Like you have cleaned your house. And you hit the nail on the head with that first picture!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow who isn't going to be excited by a post titled "fluffy nonsense"? Who, I ask you? Well, I am because I am in some dire need of fluffy nonsense. And garlic butter, now that you mention it.
ReplyDeleteIt ain't Paris but Arles is still surprisingly hopping. It is just that immediately--yes, as in poof!--the crowds change. Out go the families with eight kids that stretch allllll the waaaaay across the street like a pack of wolves and in come the smartly dressed couples with guide books in hand. Halelujah!!
bahahaha "ice cream lieutenant dan" killed me!
ReplyDeletethat Lt. Dan one is my favorite meme of all time.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I know that cat too! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for curried zucchini soup!
Fluffy nonsense could be a series. Love it. And that cat used to live in my neighbourhood when I was pregnant with number 1, wailing like a newborn baby in front of my window. It drove me nuts. I am still nuts :-)
ReplyDeleteThe Rowan Atkinson photo had me laughing helplessly, the cat finished me off. Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteNice post! Had a good laugh, especially over the one with Mr. Bean. ha!
ReplyDeleteTwo things: 1)That Lieutenant Dan one is a riot. 2) That can't possibly be the cat outside your window unless he's faster than Superman because he was here last night too. Gah.
ReplyDeleteSara, thanks so much for linking up to my new linky at www.katieslanguagecafe.blogspot.com I appreciated it so much and i have been enjoying your blog forever so it was like seeing an old friend in my new link up. Cheers! ~~Katie
ReplyDeleteHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA, Oh my gosh, I'm crying from laughing so hard at the Lieutenant Dan one. Best. Meme. EVER!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh tonight, Sara!
Simply LOVE September in Provence - just as you say, the countryside empties but the weather is better than in August. Wish I was there right now...
ReplyDeleteI lost it as soon as I saw Mr. Bean! All of the tourists have migrated to Auvergne to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and the trails in the Puys. Can I send them back to Provence?
ReplyDeleteI too enjoyed your Fluffy Nonsense - and I recognised the Mr Bean face from so many infant school children!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm off to make curried courgette soup now. I hope it's good!
Confession:.....the cat pins may make me want to become a cat person. HI-larious!
ReplyDeleteFluffy nonsense and better butter are two of the best things in life....Fact.
I think all the LPV tourists came to Atlanta....or maybe it's school starting....but I'm pretty sure it's LPV touristis.
Those pins have just made me laugh so much - LOVE the last one!!
ReplyDeleteA couple of my friends sent me the Lieutenant Dan picture because my love of Forrest Gump is well known. I laugh at it every time i see it!
