lickity split

++ That's Fifty's nemesis sitting on the window ledge all high and mighty. I'm not a fan either, but I do admire his balance.

++ Brazil Day was on Wednesday. I'm sure you're thinking... wait a second, wasn't Brazil Day a month ago... and you'd be right, it was, but that last Brazil Day wasn't in The LPV, it was in The IBTWV. This one was back in the original Le Petit Village and not only were all of your favorite villagers there (Brother-in-Law, Child Bride, Honey Jr... ) but Mr. & Mrs London drove up from Toulon. It was so good I could sleep for days. And so good that The Husband broke his toe. That's right, broke his toe. It's not a party until someone suffers an injury. That's what I always say.

++ You've probably noticed that even though I outed The Husband and told you that his name is Gregory, I've gone back to writing, 'The Husband'. But I'm not necessarily going to do that all the time. Sometimes I like typing The Husband, and sometimes I like typing, Gregory. I'm fickle like that. Please bare with me.

++ Fifty has had the best week of his life. Not only did he learn how to swim last weekend, but this week he has been driven around in Mrs. London's convertible (riding shotgun no less), and got to cuddle up and take a nap with Honey's Honey. Life has been good for our furry friend, but it could have been even better...

++ Last Sunday morning at Aidan's house, I woke up to a loud bang. Clementine had burst through the guest bedroom door to breakout Fifty. Before I could get out of bed, the two of them ran out (with Fifty giving me a sad look that I'm pretty sure was a goodbye) and sprinted upstairs. I scrambled out of bed and caught up to them just as they reached the terrace. I think they were planning on jumping off of it and making a break for ol' Mexico (err... I mean Spain).

++ Thanks to receiving the most tattered copy of it ever from Mrs. London, I'm finally about to start reading Fifty Shades of Grey and finding out what all of the naughty fuss is about.

So have you read it?

Should I be fussed?

  3. I think we can bear with "Gregory" as well as with "the Husband" but if you are going to read fifty shades of grey (as opposed to writing 50 shades of Fifty) then by all means stock up on batteries first - at least that's what I have heard from my girlfriends who are more open about it. But dang woman, when you title a post "Likity Split" you absolutely KNOW this is where a Texas boy is going to go with it! (and Gregory this is a heads-up, ima warnin' you... once she starts reading that stuff you better get a "safe word").

  4. Hi Hun, yes, I've just finished reading it and without holding back, it is womans porn...! I was reading it on the plane and i'm sure I started to blush and thought people knew why. lolol Christian Grey is hot and Anatasia is sweet and new to his life. That's all I'm going to say. The book is addictive, really addictive, once I started reading I found it hard to put it down. Anyway you will find out shortly. LEt me know what you think?

  5. I love the back and forth between Gregory and The Husband! And we're off to Cap Ferret tomorrow for 2 weeks and I downloaded all three of Fifty Shades for the trip. We can compare notes upon la rentrée!

  6. Haha to get what all the fuss is about I read the first book, and it really was just average. Heard they were making it into a movie though, and the male lead is one of the guys from True Blood? Alex someone? Don't really know the name.

Love from the NaNa girls xoxo

  7. See, here I assumed you had Gregory and a husband on the side. And I was thinking, wow, she really is becoming French!

  8. I must say I have to agree with what Claire wrote. I too read it on the plane flying back to Spain, and believe me I couldn't put it down, blushing and all! Even a fellow passenger came up to me to say she read the books in like a week! Let's just say it made my flight less boring! The writing isn't wonderful, but the books are entertaining. That's the point isn't it? I read all three books and they didn't last me more than a few days. Pity to think what should I read now?! Can't wait to hear what you think about them. Adriana

  9. Too funny. That dog thinks he's a cat lying on the ledge like that. Fifty's personality just jumps through the blog. I can just picture that damn fool riding shotgun, sunglasses and all with the wind in his fur. Sorry the hubster broke his toe. Hope he's not too big of a baby as most men are. xoxo

  10. Love how each and every dog seems to have their very own nemesis - except ours! But maybe your dog only hates this one because he's pretending to be a cat ;-) xo Anja

  11. Fifty wanted to elope and you stopped it! You ruined his lovelife! As all mothers do.

Didn't read it. I am not fussed. I refuse to read it esp after reading those comments. :-)

  12. Oh how cute that dog is, I've always had a weak spot for shepherds.

Sorry to laugh, but that Brazil day's accident to break a toe was like the weekend from our life. One weekend, R was performing how the midget from Fort Boyard runs (bad, I know! haha) and he kicked his toes to the table. Broken toe. Just before the day we were supposed to have swimming pool party and games ;) He went with it but he got a lesson not to make fun of others!

  13. I am still not sure if I should read Fifty Shades of Grey or not. I have heard it's terribly written. But on the other hand I am curious what all the fuss is about.

  14. Just wait til you get to around page 115 or something like that...I didn't realize that it was S+M naughty until around that point!

  15. Oh man, Fifty Shades of Grey is...special. I will leave it at that. And also admit that I LOVED them all. Enjoy!

  16. I would have totally gotten drunk on Brasil Day with caipirinhas!

  17. I love Fifty's adventures! What a personality on that dog. :)

As far as Fifty shades, I really did not like the book and a half that I read. That's about as far as I could make it. It wasn't the erotic scenes that threw me off, it was the terrible writing. It makes me wonder why anyone would think she's a talented writer? But hopefully you enjoy it and let me know what you think!

  19. Lol, hope you caught the dogs at least by Marseille :oD As for the book, I'd heard it was about as dull as 50 shades of grey, but I haven't read it...

  20. I have not read that one yet> I must admit I'm very curious wnat all the fuss is too! You will have to let us know! Fifty is such a character! Maybe I should include some adventures of my crazy dog too! :) Traci

  21. Loved Fifty Shades .. would call it "erotica" rather than porn. Guess i'm not picky 'cause i didn' notice that it was poorly written. A fun read.

  22. I read all 3 books in 5 days. I just couldn't put them down! xx

  23. How bloody hot is it? And I'm talking about the weather, not 50 Shades of Grey. I haven't read it yet so I'm interested to hear what you think. Inheriting a tattered copy is okay, it's just when the pages are stuck together that you have to worry...

  24. I haven't read Fifty Shades and not sure if I want to. I tend to shy away from books that are suddenly fads. But that's just me.

  25. I have a weak spot for shepherds so I can not help but think that Fifty's nemesis is cute. But they can be jerks to anyone not in their immediate family. They are kind of elitist jerks like that. ha!

  26. I wish I could look all regal laying on a windowsill like that, sheesh. I'd just look like a fool.

Anyway. TWO Brazil days?! That's gotta be awesome! Have a good weekend, Sara!

  27. No, I haven't read it yet but I'm going away for a little holiday so planning to and see what all the fuss is about!

  28. I was so used to "The Husband" that calling him by his actual name didn't feel quite right, haha! Is it bad to say I prefer "The Husband"?

  29. Haven't read anything this summer except geeky grape stuff. Wait - in my world the story of why a Cabernet is like "this" from Australia and like "that" from California is still porn. Read on, good woman!

  30. Yessss, way to fall to the 50 Shades trap!

  31. I haven't read the book, at this point I don't think I'm missing much.
