What I feared would happen, has happened. My wonderful Florence Nightingale performance with The Husband has left me with la grippe. But, France is in the middle of a flu epidemic after all, so maybe I was bound to get it.
So here I am, in bed, with a cup of tea (which of course I had to make myself... grumble grumble, growl growl, **insert other unhappy noises**), propped up on pillows with a head that feels like it's both floating and going to explode.
Can you tell I'm cranky?
I'm cranky.
On the bright side... Honey's Honey will be walking Fifty today. Yesterday I walked Fifty in my pyjamas (in France! Shock. Horror. Right?), because I only had the energy to either A. get dressed or B. walk the dog, not A + B, and since Fifty had to go pee pee, pyjama dog walking it was. I'm sure I'm the scandal of the village.
But that's nothing new really.
P.S. QUICK! What's your favorite TV show? I'm looking to ease my insufferable lonely and sick boredom.
P.P.S. As soon as I ditch the French germ factory that has taken up residence inside my body, I will be back to tell you all about Honey B's surprise party, and my trip to Aix last weekend. I'll miss you guys.
Get better soon, sweetie. You die soon?
ReplyDeleteHa, Delana beat me to it. Get well soon, so far I don't seem to have contracted it - fingers crossed. I love Mad Men and would like to watch Glee one of these days. Have heard the Game of Thrones is very good (no idea what it's about) or if you like dodgy vampire goings-on try True Blood. Hope you're feeling better soon x
ReplyDeleteI'm anxiously awaiting the new season of Mad Men. I'm kind of over Glee at the moment but maybe I can get back into it. I have heard that Game of Thrones is good though, but I think I'll wait and watch it with The Husband.
DeleteI hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how many you can get across the pond, but my favorite comedy is "The Big Bang Theory." I have a ton of other shows I watch so I will limit myself to a handful. My favorite sci-fi show is "Fringe." I used to be a Glee fan for the first season or so, and then it lost focus and started drifting into some sort of after school special and I lost interest. Now my musical needs are filled by this new show "Smash." I'm a total sucker for spy shows and love "Burn Notice." Oh, and my favorite reality show? "The Amazing Race." It always makes long to have the money to travel. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving Smash right now! I'm actually just about to watch the newest episode :)
DeleteHeya, I watch stuff on project free tv. Game of Thrones, the Big Bang Theory, Mad Men, True Blood, Teen Mom 2, Family Guy... The Daily show is free on it's website too, if you like John Stewart.
ReplyDeleteI walked my dog in my pjs too this morning. Got lots of stares, oh well :)
I <3 John Stewart. I <3 him hard.
DeleteI hope my favorite blogger will raise up soon!! Even though I'm sure you look fabulous in your PJs, Honey's Honey is sweet to take Fifty for his walks. To help you to get your appetite back, watch the Gilmore Girls, to help you fight the PJs and running nose, watch Mad Men or PanAm for the glam'! And French TV to get some sleep! Crossing my fingers for you to get better very bientôt!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel much better really soon. One thing I can guarantee for sure though is that never, ever in the history of blogging have those words ever been used in a blog post title :)
ReplyDeleteWe should be bunked up together. Homeland.
ReplyDeleteFeel better. Cause I'm gauging my down time on yours. I'm one day behind.
A x
What a great post title! La grippe - poor you! I like to watch favourite films to cheer me up when I'm not well.
ReplyDeletehttp://missbbobochic.blogspot.com/
Try watching a little Married With Children for laughs, Gossip Girl for oh oh las, or some True Blood for sexy vampires and an insanely sexy werewolf.... :-) Bisous and get well soon!!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I hope you feel better soon. I love watching The Good Wife, Bones, Castle and Revenge :) I hope you find something good to watch.

I hope you are feeling better soon! Have my youngest here sick and I will crack up if I get it too!!
ReplyDelete~Anne
Poor Skippy. La grippe sucks dogs balls.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you're watching Smash - my sister and I watched the first two episodes the other day. Me likey.
Can't believe no-one has mentioned The Vampire Diaries. It's da bomb. The first season starts off a little rocky but once it gets going - yowsers. It's pretty much my favourite TV show.
I also loved Game of Thrones - not my normal bag and slow at the start, but SUCH good TV. And the second season comes out in April, so you and The Husband need to get on to Season 1 ASAP.
Hope you feel better my sweet. Can you do me a favour and say to The Husband every 10 minutes "I die soon?". puh-lease????
hehe xx
Hey, I'm down with something too, and it involves puking. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, Sara!
Oh. no, feel better! I am currently power-watching all of the the episodes of "Parenthood," because I am addicted to it. (It makes me a little teary almost every time.)
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. Get some rest and find a good book to get lost in. I haven't been watching t.v. so can't really recommend anything. xo
ReplyDeleteGet better soon! I subscribe New Girl and Suits. xx
ReplyDeleteyou better call The Husband and make him bring you some good ish on his lunch break! You took care of him... now it's his turn! : ) Feel better, buddy!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you are ill. I live in fear of The Flu. Mostly because for some odd reason, I have not gotten a flu in so many years I can't remember it. But from what everyone tells me, it is not something I want to remember.
ReplyDeleteDown here at the bottom of the world, English speaking television has to come to us through nefarious means.
Thus we see old series that everyone else already knows and loves and we think we just discovered them !
We are beggars and cannot choose, so our favorites at the moment are Foyles War, Justified, and of course, anything BBC so we gobbled up Downton Abbey and wish there were more English language shows like it.
Feel better fast, besos.
sorry to hear your ill, juss take care of yourself. i love vampire tv shows haha not sure thats your interest.
ReplyDeleteDont miss my HARVEY PRINCE PERFUME Worldwide giveaway :)

You, as an American, should be watching Revenge...so decadent! It's my guilty pleasure show!
ReplyDeleteAwe, get better lady. Favorite show, without a doubt Law & Order....all of them.
ReplyDeleteI can't help but love 30 Rock. It's so UN-politically correct. Hope you feel better soon. And tell the Husband he needs to work on *his* Florence Nightingale skills.
ReplyDeleteOh no; I am so sorry you have the flu. I hope you feel better soon. I am sure that was quite entertaining for the villagers to see you walking Fifty in your PJs.
ReplyDeleteFeel better!!!
ReplyDeleteTry Revenge, Once Upon a Time, or if you're looking to get into a whole series than go for Lost. That's my all time favorite show!
OH NO! FEel better!
ReplyDeleteMad Men for a drama or How I Met Your Mother for a comedy. OR The Big C. There's so many good ones!
TV shows? The Wire is incredibly difficult to get into (you have to watch about 4 episodes before you understand what the hell is going on) but it is positively the most amazing piece of TV ever created.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Sopranos too. And the BBC Office. 30 Rock is positively hilarious as well.
Feel Better!! 30 Rock, House and Bones. Major Major Bones fan.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Feel better.
ReplyDeleteRight now my favorite show is New Girl. SO. FUNNY.
Don't die soon... ;)
ReplyDeleteCheck out: Happy Endings, New Girl, Downton Abbey, SouthLAnd, Revenge... !
Hope you feel better very soon!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite shows: An idiot Abroad (funniest travel show ever!), The Good Wife, Mad Men (of course), Downton Abbey, Sherlock (both BBC shows)...J'espere que tu vas vite te retablir, bon courage :)
ReplyDeleteOh no, Sara! Hope you feel better SO SOON! My favorite TV show currently is Parenthood, but it's best when you watch it from Episode 1. You can find it online.
ReplyDeleteHope you get better soon! I hate being sick. :( If you want to watch an oldie but goodie, Sex and the City is one of my favorites. So fun, funny and real. I must have watched my set a billion times but it's always nice to curl up with the gals and watch the latest relationship disaster or life change. Anywhoo, can't wait to hear your stories!!
ReplyDeleteOh and also Modern Family. LOVE LOVE LOVE that show! If you want some good laughs, go with this one!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel well soon. Hate colds.
ReplyDeleteWell the old shows are still great like seinfeld and frasier but I am more of a movie lover. I love a good love story.
Feel better! Feel better! All the shows I like are mentioned above although we devoured Downton Abbey in about three days and there are TWO seasons. Hope you are on the mend soon.
ReplyDeleteAt least you haven't lost your sense of humor. Who can resist a call of 'blogger down'? LOL. Get better soon and happy birthday.
ReplyDeleteOMG i FEEL for you. I've had the flu once and I literally wanted to die. I was 12 but I was ready! It is the worst! Wishing you good health quick!
ReplyDeleteSo favorite TV shows - do you watch the bachelor? I swear it will keep you entertained for hours AND make you feel awesome about your life. I also never miss Teen Mom 2, Giulianna and Bill or The Middle - HI-larious!
Hope you feel better - I have had two bouts of illness this year alone. Blech.
ReplyDeleteOkay Revenge is super fun and 30 Rock is always a winner...and then there is...well...Vampire Diaries. Yes, I judge myself.
Feel better, Mme.! I tried to find the Golden Girls channel on youtube to send to you but it seems that Disney just took it down.
ReplyDeleteThat had every season with continuous play! Paradise for any GG girl, I tell you!
But it looks like your readers have got you covered. : )
Feel better!!!
hope you feel better soon! sending you some warm sunshine from down under :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess that was inevitable.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better. The last time I got the flu, it was right when I was leaving my previous job. I managed to give it to a coworker as a parting gift, but it was okay because I didn't like him much anyway. :) A little something to remember me by.
Oh, no! I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteAnd to answer you TV question... Gilmore Girls, West Wing, 30 Rock, and Friends. Most of them are oldies (ish) but I never get tired of them.
favorite TV show(s): Revenge, Modern Family, Bachelor
ReplyDeleteUgh, being sick is the worse. I'm sending good ~.:VIBES:.~ your way for a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteCome check out my post about my home office!

Men are NOT good nurses generally. I had knee surgery a couple of years ago and after being placed on the couch my hubs LEFT ME THERE for hours. I bust his boules about it to this day.
ReplyDeleteNote to Men: anything Tiffany Blue is good. ANYTHING. lol
My favorite TV show is American Idol. I'm such a douche. But it's everything!
You can make me laugh even when you are feeling lower than owl-poop... Dog-walking in pjs? Love it, and I think that you should make it your goal to always be the talk of the Petit Village, bien sûr!
ReplyDeleteFeel better, mon amie!
Bises,
Genie
Are you better yet? I'm going through withdrawals ;)
ReplyDeleteFeel better! There's nothing worse than being sick.
