the what what

{we're talking no cohesion whatsoever on this one... it's like anarchy}

+ Did you know that The Husband and I have been boycotting Le Petit Bar? Probably not, since I hadn't told you, but we are. It basically comes down to this... I'm tired of being treated badly and paying for it, it's that simple (I'm getting ornery in my old age). So we haven't been there since Halloween night (of course it's not that difficult to boycott something that's only open half the time... it was closed for three weeks over the holidays by the way... that was clever).

+ Honey Jr wants to do another fondue tonight. I'm thinking it might be time for an intervention (or would that be a cheeservention???). I know that there's not much that goes on here, especially in winter, but surely we have to come up with something to do that doesn't involve cheese (and I can't believe I said that... hold on a second yes, yes, a pig just flew by my window).

+ We watched Crazy Stupid Love the other night and The Husband pointed to Ryan Gosling and said that was how he wanted his hair... AWESOME... let me tell you something ladies, if your husband ever points to Ryan Gosling and says that he wants the same fill in the blank... you must encourage this at all costs.

+ Confession... I kinda can't stop pinning. It's a pin pin pin world and I can't help myself. If you want to pin with me, feel free to do so here. I like the company.

+ Last night I actually got my Friday night pizza... although not from the pizza van (of course not, turns out he's not coming back to Le Petit Village until Spring... thanks for ruining Friday nights pizza man), we had to drive to another village to pick it up, but it was Tartiflette, and delicious, and worth it (for those of you who don't know what Tartiflette pizza is... mozzarella, potatoes, lardons, Reblochon cheese, and crème fraîche).

+ Tonight I'm making steak haché oeuf à cheval, or en anglais, eggs on horseback. I'm not too sure why I decided to share this information with you, but there you go.

+ The winter sales have started in France... go ahead and shout like Oprah...
L E S  S O L D E S ! I've already gotten The Husband two new pairs of shoes... now what to get me...

I'm taking suggestions kids,
what do you think?

  1. A cheese fondue, a Tartiflette and Ryan Gosling all in the same post? I am in love.

  2. Encourage, encourage, encourage anything Ryan Gosling - this is a wonderful motto to live life by. Seriously though, how amazing was Baby Goose in Crazy Stupid Love? Tonight's dinner looks amazing! I love that Friday night pizza is also a tradition for you. I don't know what I'd do without Friday night pizza!

  3. You should open your own bar there! And it could actually stay open and have alcohol in it

  4. les soldes after i left. life is unfair!!:))

  5. I second the idea of you opening a petit bar in the petit village. I am sure it would be smashing success. With the pizza guy not coming and you boycotting the petit bar, what are you going to do?

  6. I think you should open a bar/pizza van!

  7. Don't know why it took me so long to make the connection, but The Husband looks more than a little bit LIKE Ryan Gosling. Except your dude is not as wimpy. Cheers & happy new year from sunny, warm Northern California. BTW - I'm headed to TX for a few days in February.

  8. wholeheartedly agree with Ryan Gosling statement (though, he really creeped me out in that movie "Drive"). By the way, I'm digging your home decor pins!

  9. YUM. Gosling love. I really love that film - I saw it at home in the summer and could quite happily watch it on repeat. That man oozes sex.

On Wednesday, after lunch with a friend near Opera, I forgot that les Soldes started and made my way to Galerie Lafayette. TOTAL HELL. CHAOS. PANDEMONIUM. Since then I have avoided the shops like the plague.

Your bar sounds hilarious. How on earth does he make any money out of it?

  10. Oui! Open the bar! Fantastic idea, but I know all too well how difficult to do en France. The Husband does, indeed, bear more than a passing resemblance to Ryan Gosling. Mine looks like a slightly more mature Hugh Jackman. I'm not complaining.

  11. Ryan Gosling is so beautiful. Also good for you for boycotting the bar! Maybe convince the little market place to start serving alcohol in the evenings?

  12. Also I just started following you on Pin Interest! Although I'm not all that crazy about the site. Hopefully this will help me get more into it.

  20. I think your husband looks a lot like RG, except your husband is more handsome - really, I am not just saying that.

So happy you are on Pinterest, too! I look forward to lots of pinning with you.

  22. I absolutely agree with your Ryan Gosling advice and your reasoning behind the bar boycot, but I have to disagree on turning down cheese. Never, ever, turn down an invite to indulge in cheese! Cheese makes life better, happier, and, of course, tastier. I say you should do another fondue night :)

  23. Funny post - I could not agree more with the Ryan Gosling statement. Everything about him is a YES!

  24. Great, all I can think about is pizza :-)

  25. Another Pin addict ! I'm wasting far too much time. How about a zombie themed pizza bar? - sure to be a hit !

  27. Love this post! Need to learn more about the Petit Bar! And I love fondue...don't blame Honey Jr! :)

  28. If Aaron told me he wanted to be like Ryan Gosling, I'd have a happy heart attack!!

  29. I agree on the Gosling. We watched "Drive" a few weeks ago and Doc said he wanetd his henley shirt that RG wore the whole movie...me = thrilled and I immediately went searching for well fittinng henleys. Thankfully he did not say that he wanted the silk dragon jacket that RG wore most of the movie though...yowzers.

    Did you cook horse meat?!

  30. Oh, and I definitely need a Pinningintervention myself. Holy time suck.

  31. Hey Girl, I don't mind if your husband borrows my hairstyle, you know I love to share. *smiles, mixes you a cocktail while petting a kitten*

  32. "(for those of you who don't know what Tartiflette pizza is... mozzarella, potatoes, lardons, Reblochon cheese, and crème fraîche)."

Seriously? You haven't told me about this yet? These are the kinds of things I feel I need to know about...like raclette!!! Booking train ticket to le petite village NOW to have this. (Also, I'm catching up on everyone's blogs...as you might be aware...)
