still a little icky

Have you ever rushed being sick thinking that if you act all normal and better, then you'll feel all normal and better? I have. That's what I did this weekend, because I'm super clever. I oh so wisely told myself that my virus was gone and I headed out for the day. Stupid girl. By late Sunday afternoon I had melted back into the couch and haven't moved much since. You would think that at my age I would know better, but I don't.

So since I'm a tad icky still, and a little low on energy, I bring you this post of photos of no real significance. Please enjoy.

This is The Husband's chocolate milk. Nothing exciting here, I just happen to like that The Husband drinks these little bottles clearly made for children. They look so dainty in his hands.

See the grasshopper? He (I've decided it's a he) invaded my dining room one afternoon while I was having my French lesson and he hung out there all day. Seriously, like all day. It was rather unnerving. But he seemed to really like that bottle of whiskey he's perched on. I've heard of bar flies but never bar grasshoppers.

And here's La Petite doing her Muhammad Ali impersonation.
I love babysitting. I'm awesome at it.

  3. I agree with Samantha! I first noticed the wine bottles hanging weirdly in the air, and then the little green bugger.

    Feel better!

  5. Just further evidence that the Husband is indeed a big girl/baby.

Hope you are feeling better soon - I've been a little under the weather myself. Do not like. Do not want.

    Gros bisous

PS - please tell me that when La Petite had the gloves on you pretended she was saying things like "Let's get ready to RUUUUUMMMBLE" and "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" or the classic "I am the greatest" in a deep voice?

You totally did. I know you.

  6. Ah, you should totally set up a babysitting buisness in le petit village, husband can hang there and drink chocolate milk, and you can look after le petit!

I hope you feel better soon

  8. ha! my hubands drinks choco milk here in Greece called "Milko" and it's so obviously made for children! He drinks it with his favorite Greek "cheese pie" and calls it "The Sensation of the Century!"

  9. Have you ever seen "The IT Crowd"? It's a british show, and there's an episode called "The Work Outing" that is causing me to look at that chocolate milk, and anything with the name "Willy" for that matter, in a very different light...

  10. A) Willy = boy part in London. Chocolate boy parts...I can dig it.

    B) Bar + grasshopper = Bar-hopper

Maybe your grasshopper is really a bar-hopper but he just really liked your bar so he's evolving into a barfly.

(No really, I come up with it all on my own...I swear!)

  13. You are an awesome babysitter! Not many could do that to a baby and have it remain cute, without going overboard. Well done! I hope you feel better soon, the flu drains the life out of you, get loads of rest!

  14. Poor girl! That must be a nasty little bug you have - two bugs you have I see. I think grasshoppers are kind of cute. As long as they don't hop on me.

And the cutest of all is La Petite ready to duke it out. She is adorable.

    Rest up! xo

  15. Yes, I have convinced myself many times that it's all "mind over matter" when it comes to being sick. It never works out that way, though.

And when I saw the first picture I thought you were drinking chocolate milk to make you feel better. lol

  16. I love that you have both babies and alcoholic grasshoppers hanging around your house.

  17. Oh, I hope you feel better soon! It's no fun to be sick in the summer. Hopefully you'll be back to yourself in no time. I don't know if this will make you feel better, but I wrote about your fantastic blog on my very humble one. It's all rave reviews so I hope that'll make you feel good!

  19. I am so sorry that you are sick. :( I do the same thing -- I live in denial about my illness until it knocks my ass out. I always promise myself that I will never do that again ... but I always do.
