who: The Parisian and The Husband
what: BBQing
where: Chez Brother-in-Law
when: a couple of Thursdays ago
why: ? ? ?
I can kind of understand The Parisian's use of the rake (allow me to reiterate... I can KIND OF understand, but I don't really), but why The Husband is wielding an ax is beyond me.
ROFL! Was this just a photo op, or did they actually use those while grilling? lol!
ReplyDeleteJust hilarious! I am also curious about the rake and ax, if you figure out the mystery do share!
ReplyDeleteHOLY COWS! what kind of meat were u grilling??? lol
ReplyDeleteThis brings a whole new meaning to the techniques of BBQ--everybody has their style I guess!
ReplyDeleteperharps to kill the " viande"??????? The rake tro control the braises of course!
ReplyDeleteAs I always do while in Europe, when things are just too "different" or strange to wrap my North American head around, I always just mutter something like..."Europe is beyond lame" and Husband says, "what did you say?" ...and I'll exclaim "Europe is amazing, let's stay!"
ReplyDeleteTo which of course he looks at me like I'm totally wackadoodle.
They do indeed do things their "own way"....
Haha! That's terrifying and hilarious at the same time!

Maybe instead of butchering meat first, they just give the animal a little too much to drink, let it pass out, and then throw it on the grill. The husband has the axe on hand in case it comes to.
ReplyDeleteVery funny :) XOL
ReplyDeleteIt's a man thing....french or otherwise. There are never any LOGICAL explanations.
ReplyDeletethat is funny =)
ReplyDeleteHahaha classic! The French are very different. Why anyone would ever need an ax is beyond me... maybe to cut the logs?
ReplyDeleteboys will be boys!!! I can totally picture my 11 year old son and his friends doing this!!
ReplyDeleteI think playing with fire is something you never outgrow:)
It's really no different than here - the tools are strange, but the attitude is definately the same.
ReplyDeleteThe ax is obviously for relatives who ask too many questions :-). This is my first visit to your site and I've spent some time browsing through your earlier posts. I'm so glad I did that. You've created a wonderful spot for your readers to enjoy. I know I certainly enjoyed my visit here and plan to return. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteBrilliantly awesome! You should do a subtitle contest with this picture!
ReplyDeleteBAHAHA! I'm sure my husband would approve.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if the meat suddenly decides to come back to life?
ReplyDeleteWas there beer involved? That seems like the kind of thing Wilzie would do when there is beer involved...
ReplyDeleteThis.
ReplyDeleteIs.
Epic.
I could see Mr. A doing something like this -- sober, mind you.
Then again, we do weird shit all the time.

CREEPY. But funny too
ReplyDeleteMost unusual those two men. Raking a fire perhaps on the ground to spread the coals to cool and die..but on the BBQ? hhhmmm. Good thing you caught them!
ReplyDeleteSuch a funny picture, I love it!
ReplyDeleteboys... they can't help it.
ReplyDeleteThis picture needs to be made into a poster. What it'll say who knows but this is too funny of a pic not to make it into a hilarious picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giggle. I really needed it today.
that is not how Texans barbecue!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious! Now I feel like BBQ.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the kind comment on my last post. Things are looking a LOT better today! :)
I believe the proper caption should be
ReplyDeleteVendredi Treize, Le Barbecue (Friday the 13th, the Barbecue). The axe sure gives me a picture of a horror movie. Hilarious though
Is the animal thrown on the grill while still alive then killed as it cooks?
ReplyDeleteIs it raked over the coals so to speak?
xo Jane
Wow, that is a new way BBQ...efficient, very efficient. Leave it to the Parisians to get things done, lol. Looks like a grand time either way :)
ReplyDeleteahaha, that's awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh, you never fail to produce a laugh from me. Your life is so entertaining. Each time I come here I think you should write a book... your story told w/ your sense of humor would be a huge hit! xo
ReplyDeleteI think testosterone does strange things to boys -- and outdoor plumbing. It messes with their head and causes all kinds of odd things to happen...maybe it's le mistral too. Bless. lol.
ReplyDeleteOH that must have been some platter of meat.
ReplyDeleteThat is crazy! What were the bbq'ing!!!??
ReplyDeleteHahaha that is the funniest photo!! I cannot even begin to imagine the back-story...
