{clowns are scary}
Imagine that you live in a tiny place on top of a mountain with only 250 other people (OK, in the summer the population goes up to almost 1000, but still). And to get anywhere, to do anything, you have to navigate down that topsy turvy mountain, on teeny, loopy, swervy roads with crazy kamikaze drivers. So one day, when you're out for a walk (because that's what we do here, we go for walks) you come across a sign that says the circus is coming to town.
You would get excited wouldn't you? (Of course you would).
And I got excited (I'm not going to go into much detail but will tell you that many 'circus is coming to town' dances were made up, and performed).
..............................................................................................................
And then the trucks came (two to be exact)...
And the Big (little) Top was setup...
And the zoo part of the Zoo Circus was put out on the field where we play rugby with Fifty and Vicky...
Two horses
Two llamas
.
And a goat.
That's it. That's all I got.
Oh, and three clowns.
Next time I'll just watch Honey Jr and his amazing bees.
bisou
*LOL* That is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just hate it when you're husband's right?!
ReplyDeleteHa! Sounds like those that travel around in little Italian towns, too! Prepare to be underwhelmed!
ReplyDeleteOMG! such a disappointment... I was counting on a happy ending! :o)
ReplyDeleteO! We saw Circus Shmircus last year in Vegas and it was amazing!
ReplyDeleteToo funny! xo
ReplyDeleteJust enough to burst your bubble ;) Love your new banner!
ReplyDeleteI understand small town living and all but c'mon.
ReplyDeleteI like the new banner. And thanks for the postcard. Let's Skype soon.Love,
ReplyDeleteBig Sis
Ohh hahaha wow. I wonder who dubbed this a circus? It's more like a petting zoo.
ReplyDeleteWow! Not even a dog wearing a tutu jumping through a hoop? Lame!
ReplyDeleteI love your new header thingy....especially the font.
Love the header! So what did the clowns do with the llamas?
ReplyDeleteI bet it was more entertaining circus for Fifty & Vicky than for You & The Husband ;)
ReplyDeleteBetter luck next time! :D
Agree - clowns are scary. Probably scarier in a tiny town ... that probably has more goats than the circus in the first place. Love the new look!
ReplyDeleteWow. He sure wasn't exagerating. Wondering just what kind of a spectacle can be put on with
ReplyDeleteTwo horses
Two llamas
A goat and
Three clowns.
Whoa, talk about a major let down. But that's okay 'cause you're right- clowns are scary. You only had to deal with three, just imagine if were a bigger circus? It would be an infestsation of rediculous costumes and lots of face paint. *shudder* I just don't like them at all.
ReplyDeleteLove the new banner btw!!
LOL Sara!
ReplyDeleteah les cirques en France ... A big excitement for nothing....
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the last time I went to the Circus.
ReplyDeleteOh Sara Louise, my heart weeps for you and your dashed expectations.
ReplyDeleteNo Cirque Du Soleil in your town huh?
Love your new header.
xo jane
This is hilarious! Reminds me of the KRAZY Italian Circus that Husband and I went to outside of Athens a few years ago. But unlike this little show it was truly amazing....old skool circus magic.
ReplyDeleteSorry this "Zoo Circus" wasn't much of a zoo!!!
I never really liked clowns. But a goat? It might be at least a tiny bit entertaining, no?
ReplyDeleteIf the clowns weren't there I would so go. They scare me... seriously scare me.
ReplyDeleteDear Sara,
ReplyDeletemany thanks! When I was in Provence I think of you ... I was looking for an English girl with a dog "lost" in France!
You had me until you mentioned the clowns...creepy! lol
ReplyDeletehaha omg that is so funny. What a lame-o sad/sweet Circus!
ReplyDeleteI love the ad. Very colorful!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of moving to provence within the next 12 months. I'm still prepping myself. I'm tired of the city.
ReplyDeleteI adore this circus. It's a delight to see it...with the goats!

Oh and you remind me of a fellow blogger, Sini. She recently moved to France to be with her boyfriend :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe you two can share :) She's a lovely person.

Funny reading this post. It reminds me of my move to Germany and how the innocent stumble on something familiar seemed to leave me dispointed everytime.
ReplyDeleteThat is fantastic! Circuses, fairs, carnivals - they are all so great to photograph, the colors and lights are terrific. Very cool that you got this one in its set-up!
ReplyDeleteMan, I never knew a country could love circuses as much as France does! We've been here for about 7 months and there's been at least 5 that I know of...plus one in Geneva. I used to get super excited but they're kinda creepy techno versions of what I've always imagined the circus to be. Do they drive down the streets of your town in vans with big scary clowns on it advertising the circus on loud speakers? Scared the crap outta me first time I heard it!
